I’m Abi, a passionate Creative Arts Therapist/Counsellor specialising in dance and movement therapy. I am committed to guiding individuals of all ages in their journey of healing, self-expression, and personal growth through the power of movement. With two years of professional experience in both individual and group therapeutic settings, I specialize in using dance and movement as a tool for enhancing the mind-body connection, fostering emotional well-being, and facilitating transformative healing.
Drawing from a holistic, strengths-based approach, I integrate evidence-based practices from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and trauma-sensitive techniques. My work is rooted in the belief that movement can be a profound way to release emotion, explore inner strengths, and create a deeper connection with oneself. Whether through therapeutic one-on-one sessions or group workshops, my goal is to create a safe and nurturing space for each person to express themselves freely, overcome challenges, and experience empowerment in their healing process.
With a background in aged care, disability support, and working with children and teenagers, I have developed a deep understanding of how dance and movement therapy can support individuals facing a wide range of emotional and physical challenges. My approach is personalized to meet the needs of each individual, helping them work through issues such as anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, grief, and life transitions.
I am excited to support you in exploring the healing potential of movement, and together we can embark on a journey of self-discovery and wellness.
