Marina is a warm and compassionate Psychologist who has worked for several years within the public health system. Marina brings to her role her professional skills, training, and experience, her passion for assisting her clients, together with her life experience, understanding and collaborative approach.
Marina has a wide range of experience working with adolescents, adults and families and knowledge gathered through working in the disability sector, public and community health settings as well as school-based environments. She is purposeful about building a therapeutic relationship based on warmth, curiosity, empathy, and acceptance in order to help understand her client’s needs and work towards their goals.
Marina believes that every person is an individual with a range of unique experiences and skills that are important to recognise in therapy. She works adaptively, thoughtfully, and creatively alongside her clients and enjoys connecting and engaging with each person to help them bring about change and collaboratively work towards their goals.
Marina has experience in working with clients on a wide range of issues such as anxiety disorders,depression, stress, substance use issues, relationship problems, work related difficulties, grief and loss issues and uses a variety of approaches to assist her in tailoring a treatment that will be a good fit for each person.
Marina has trained in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and supportive counselling techniques as well as solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing and mindfulness techniques.
Marina also has a background in the arts and holds the belief that recognising and exploring creative ability can provide therapeutic value in helping people to enhance self-understanding and meaning in their lives.

Marina has a strong interest in helping people with mood, worry and distress problems and is focussed on compassionate and collaborative approaches to treatment. She believes in building a strong therapeutic relationship based on trust, respect, curiosity and kindness, and that this support can help to alleviate distress, enable people to better cope with and resolve their problems, offer hope and increase wellbeing. Her broad training as a Psychologist in varied public and community health settings enables her to work in a flexible and responsive way, with a range of theoretical and evidence-based therapeutic approaches.
Marina’s experience working within the arts and disability sectors has fostered an appreciation of the role that creativity can play in wellbeing as well as helped her develop a compassionate, creative and adaptive approach, drawing on the most appropriate models of practice according to the needs and preferences of her client.
Marina’s Therapeutic Approach
Marina uses a variety of techniques in therapy, working collaboratively with her clients in order to meet their therapy goals. Marina has been trained in evidenced based treatments that are grounded in scientific research, such as Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness techniques, Motivational interviewing and Solution Focused Therapy. Marina understands the importance of maintaining high standards of practice and attends regular clinical supervision with peers and qualified supervisors as well as undergoing continuing professional development and training.
