Hi, I’m Vashti. I would love the opportunity to partner with you to gain clarity about who you are, where you want to be, and how you will get there. My role is to provide you with a warm, safe, and non-judgemental space to heal and transform your life.

My commitment is to be genuine, open, honest, vulnerable, and compassionate, and I will encourage, and challenge you if required, to help you identify and address any barriers and achieve sustainable change and growth.

My clients tell me they appreciate my relaxed, friendly, practical, down to earth manner and sense of humour.

Having a lived experience with neurodiversity, mental health concerns, trauma, and abuse, I am passionate about empowering people to gain insight into their goals and barriers, build confidence and capability to overcome their challenges, achieve success and realise their potential. My purpose is to have a positive and meaningful impact on people’s lives.

Wellbeing is more than just surviving, and my mission is to ignite a transformational journey that can take you from languishing to flourishing, and from struggling to surviving to thriving, both at work and in life. As an organisational psychologist, these concepts easily apply in the workplace with employees, leaders, teams, and organisations.

Trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), trauma-focussed Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (tf-CBT) and trauma-informed practice, I work with all forms of trauma to enable you move from victim to survivor to warrior.

Therapeutic Approach

I believe in a human-centred, evidence-based approach, which means I am committed to focussing on what works for you. This includes using tools and strategies that have been proven by research and I will regularly measure your progress and check in with you about your  satisfaction with treatment. Treatment is tailored to your specific needs, and feedback will ensure your expectations are met.

In therapy, I take an eclectic approach, drawing on a range of theories and approaches including mindfulness-based interventions such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT/MBCBT), Positive Psychology (PP), and Dialectical  Behaviour Therapy (DBT).

Other approaches include Internal Family Systems (IFS), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Brief Solution Focussed Therapy (BSFT). When dealing with all forms of trauma I use Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), trauma-focused CBT (tfCBT) and a trauma-informed approach.

My experience

As a Registered Psychologist, I have provided psychological services within private practice, Medicare, workers compensation, motor accident compensation (CTP), Employee Assistance Program (EAP), Critical Incident Response and employee and manager counselling and coaching.

As an Organisational Psychologist, I have worked as a business owner / director, senior manager, and principal consultant in the private and public sector across a wide range of industries including ICT, Professional Services, Finance, Emergency Services, Justice and Corrections, Customs and Immigration, Mining and Construction, Real Estate, Property Development and Management, Health, Education, For Purpose, Aged Care, Housing and Homelessness, Hospitality, Entertainment, Arts and Culture.

I have worked in people, performance and culture and organisational development roles that have enabled me to design and deliver people policies and procedures and evidence-based interventions across the entire employee life cycle that create psychologically healthy workplaces and great places to work, as well as drive transformative change, performance enhancement, and deliver a return on investment. Safe to say there is not a workplace people challenge I haven’t dealt with!

I have managed multiple teams of staff and supervised numerous psychologists through Masters placement, 4+2 pathway, 5+1 pathway and organisational psychology endorsement.
