Anne-Marie has been working to support children, adolescents and adults in public and private mental health, community and educational settings for over 30 years. Having such extensive experience has led Anne-Marie to be extremely empathic and understanding; her focus is on working with you to determine your counselling goals. Her strong belief is that through concentrating on your strengths, you will achieve positive outcomes, and change is always possible.

As an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker, Anne-Maries works with people across the lifespan and provide an holistic approach to your mental health. Through her advanced training and experience, she can help you resolve presenting psychological problems, while addressing any associated social and other environmental problems that could be impacting your quality of life. This means Anne-Marie will recognise the broader implications your mental health might be having on you as an individual, as well as its impact on relationships involving friends, family, work and education.

As a high school counsellor, Anne-Marie worked with adolescents, particularly in supporting anxiety and depression. She likes to work in Narrative Therapy to explore the young person’s story of themselves and how they would like to rewrite it. For many years Anne-Marie worked with victims of crime and as a result has a strong focus on understanding individual trauma and grief. Her therapeutic interventions include Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

Anne-Marie is a full member of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) and a student associate of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and currently completing her Honours in Psychology.
