Depression

Depression affects at least one in four Australians within their lifetime and in Adelaide our clinical psychologists can help you manage your depression. 

Fear

Fear can have an isolating effect and our therapists are here to help  you work through your fears.

Phobias

This is a type of anxiety disorder that causes you to experience extreme, irrational fear about a situation, living creature, place, or object.

Panic Attacks

These are sudden episodes of intense fear that trigger severe physical reactions when there is no real danger or apparent cause. Panic attacks can be very frightening. 

Social Anxiety

If you feel nervous or uncomfortable in a social situation, you might be suffering from social anxiety disorder, also known as social phobia.

OCD

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) causes repeated unwanted thoughts or sensations (obsessions) or the urge to do something over and over again (compulsions). 

Generalised Anxiety

Feelings of anxiety are common in response to a range of stressors in life, whether it be at home, at work, when under intense pressure or as a result of issues within our relationships. 

Separation Anxiety

Our work in separation anxiety, also known as attachment issues, is grounded in the understanding that your children need you to be their safe base. 

Stress

Trauma

Trauma is an emotional response to a terrible event. Immediately after the event, shock and denial are typical. Longer term reactions include unpredictable emotions, flashbacks, strained relationships, and even physical symptoms like headaches or nausea.

Bipolar Disorder

Bipolar disorder causes unusual shifts in mood, energy, activity levels, concentration, and the ability to carry out day-to-day tasks. Moods range from periods of extremely “up,” elated, irritable, or energized behavior to very “down,” sad, indifferent, or hopeless periods.

Borderline Personality Disorder

Borderline personality disorder (BPD) is a common mental health disorder that can be treated. It affects people’s thoughts, emotions and behaviours, making it difficult for them to cope in all areas of life by distorting their view of themselves and the world around them.

To achieve work-life balance is to strike a balance between work life and personal life so you have redduced stress levels, greater focus and concentration, higher levels of job satisfaction, the opportunity to participate more fully in family and social life, more time to pursue personal goals and hobbies, and improved health.

Self Worth and Confidence

Self-worth is the internal sense of being good enough and worthy of love and belonging from others. Self-worth is often confused with self-esteem, which relies on external factors such as successes and achievements to define worth and can often be inconsistent leading to someone struggling with feeling worthy.
